Finale – Allegro is the fourth movement of famous Sonatina for Violin and Piano in G major, Op. 100, B183 written by Antonín Dvořák between November 19 and December 3, 1893, in New York City. The composer dedicated Sonatina to his six children.

The Sonatina in G major can probably be regarded as the most popular and most frequently performed work of the composer’s oeuvre for this combination of instruments. The whole Sonatina is light and uplifting, although in some places there is a sense of melancholy. Like other works from Dvořák’s American period, the sonatina uses, among other things, the pentatonic scale and syncopated rhythms.

Finale – Allegro is as well the first movement sonata-form scheme with three themes. It romps powerfully and sings tenderly.
